Megan Meier was a teenager from O’Fallon, Missouri; she had a sister and she had changed of school several times. When she was passing to eight grade her parents decided to change her to a religious school named ¨Immaculate Conception Catholic School¨ because they thought it will be better for her to be under the policy of a ¨no make-up and requiring uniforms school¨.

One day, Meier went to her mother very excited and told her:
"Mom! Mom! Mom! Look at him!" 
His name was Josh Evans who was 16 years old and he had contacted Megan through her Myspace account; he had added her as a friend. Megan wanted to get the permission of her mother to accept Josh´s friend request even though she didn't knew him. 
"Do you know who he is?"

"No, but look at him! He is hot! Please, please, can I add him?"

Mom said yes.


After Meier´s mother had accepted that her daughter talked to a total stranger, Megan  became a very good friend of Josh´s who said he was from Florida and he had recently moved into Meier´s hometown; but he was home-schooled. 
They talked all day and all night long, but it was nothing but a trap. Actually, the account was administrated by the Drew Family who were former neighbors of the Meier´s and were living four doors away. 

 The Drew family aim was to obtain secret information of Megan and then humiliating her by spreading gossip.
Megan was very happy for having a friend who constantly told her how pretty and special she was, even though she was struggling with weight and insecurity issues. 

Megan´s mother started suspecting about ¨Josh¨ when she asked Megan if Josh had asked for her phone number and Megan said that he hadn't. But Megan did asked for his phone number, and he answered that he didn't have one. 

On October 15, 2006, Megan received a message from Josh. 
 "I don't know if I want to be friends with you anymore because I've heard that you are not very nice to your friends."

 "What are you talking about?" Megan said


On October 16, 2006, Megan was happy because she had given out all of her party invitations for her upcoming birthday. When she got home, she find out that Josh had answered but with much more meaner and hurtful things. Meier´s mom was able to see all of this and she told her to sign off and stay away from the computer; then she left for the orthodontist office.

Tina, Megan´s mom called her to check if she was still on the computer...

"No, Mom. They are all being so mean to me."

"You are not listening to me, Megan! Sign off, now!"

Fifteen minutes later, Megan called her mother. By now Megan was in tears.

"They are posting bulletins about me." A bulletin is like a survey. "Megan Meier is a slut. Megan Meier is fat."

Megan was sobbing hysterically. Tina was furious that she had not signed off.


Tina had seen all of the things that Megan had responded back, this made her so angry and she ended up grounding her daughter.

"I am so aggravated at you for doing this!" she told Megan.

Megan ran from the computer and left, but not without first telling Tina, "You're supposed to be my mom! You're supposed to be on my side!"


On Oct, 16 2006; Tina Meier discovered Megan´s body in a bedroom closet. She had hanged herself, it was a slow death, and she died one day later.

Her name was Amanda Todd and she was a fifteen year old student from Port Coquitlam, British Columbia. A few years ago, she met a man online who took a picture of her breasts while they were video chatting; this man threat her and told her that if she did not ¨put on another show for him¨ he will send her picture to everyone she had known.        Amanda refused to his indecent offer and as he has said before, he found all of Amanda’s classmates through Facebook and sending them the photograph.

After this, Amanda and her family moved in to a new home and she turn to Drugs, Alcohol and Sex as a sort of escape from all of this trouble she was in. She was alone in the world, she did not have any friends and her classmates disliked her. This is when she tried many times suicide to quit the pain she was feeling, but she failed in each of her attempts.

A year later, the men reappeared creating a Facebook account which had Amanda’s topless photo as the profile picture; he contacted the majority of her classmates and she was again the joke of the school; she changed of school for second time.

A year later, Amanda started talking with an old friend that was in to her; this friend asked her to come over in where they had sexual relations while his girlfriend was on vacations. The week after this the girlfriend found out and together with some of her friends, she attacked Todd at school by punching and throwing insults at her in front of all of her new classmates.

Following this attack, Amanda tried suicide again by drinking bleach but her parents found her on time to take her to the hospital. After Todd got home from the hospital she looked at every offensive and abussive messages that had been left in her Fac out very offensive and abusive messages all around Facebook; her parents made the decision to move to another city and take her far away from all trouble.

The messages and teasing in her new school continued and despite taking anti-depressants and receiving psychological attention she was still feeling miserable.

On October 10, 2012, Amanda was found hanged at her home.
